Micro-ingredient dosing systems

The Anderson Feed Technology micro-ingredient dosing systems provide precision dosing solutions with up to 34 individual dosing cells. The dosing cells are equipped with feed screws and can include rotary discharges for poorly flowing products.

Depending on the total number of ingredients, the screw feeders can discharge in up to three separate weighers. These weighers can be setup on various levels and work simultaneously. When utilizing three weighers the maximum capacity of the top weigher is 10 pounds, the middle one 20 pounds, and the bottom one 100 pounds. They are all accurate to 0.1%.

The micro-ingredient dosing systems come equipped with two flexible rotary valves and a flexible connection to act as an airlock. The bins can be provided in stainless steel or mild steel and have a special internal lining for food products. Dosing screws are available in a variety of sizes and the larger screws always come equipped with a smaller screw beneath to acheive maximum dosing accuracy.
The micro-ingredient dosing system is designed to work inline with a larger batching system.

The storage bunkers for the components are made from stainless steel or steel ST37 with a food-quality internal coating. The screw feeders may vary in diameter, with the larger ones having a fine-dosing feeder underneath for maximum accuracy.

In modern animal-feed installations the micro-ingredient dosing often operates in-line with the central batch system. Depending on the size of the batch it may be a good idea to homogenise the dosed micro-ingredients first with a carrier on a separate mixer before adding them to the main batch.
